Renewed Clarity
Counselling Service

My counselling service offers a gentle, welcoming space where you can feel truly heard and supported. Together, we’ll explore what a fulfilling and meaningful life looks like for you, at your own pace and in your own way. My focus is always on your well-being, and I’m here to provide a calm, compassionate environment to support you throughout your healing journey, always with privacy and confidentiality in place.

Before our first session, I offer a complimentary 30-minute consultation, either by phone or in person. This gives us a chance to connect, see if we are a good fit, and for you to ask any questions in a relaxed, pressure-free environment. It also helps me understand what’s troubling you and how I might best support you. I am committed to practicing with honesty and care, and if I feel another service would better meet your needs, I will gladly help guide you to the right support.

About me
My name is Matthew Hobby
Alongside my private counselling practice, I also work within the NHS, supporting individuals in both hospice and hospital settings. These roles have given me the privilege of working with people facing a wide range of emotional challenges — including grief, anxiety, trauma, physical illness, and the many adjustments that come with changes in work or personal life. I welcome adults from all backgrounds and walks of life.

In every setting, my approach is grounded in compassion and empathy. Together, we’ll gently explore your experiences, help you make sense of what you’re going through, and support you in finding a way forward that feels right for you.

I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).
I hold an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling (Level 5), awarded through a BACP-accredited training programme.

My practice is supported by regular clinical supervision in line with the BACP Ethical Framework.
I also hold an enhanced DBS certificate.
